Front Cover 1 Creation Stages

Front Cover 1

This is the original image I started off with.. The lead singer of my featured band for my main image

 I Then used the colour balance tool to add more blue tones/hues into the image as well as slightly brightening it up a little bit more. I feel this added more depth and definition to the image. It also created a darker mood.

This was my initial idea for the masthead on my front cover of 'The Sting'.

This was the second choice for my masthead on the front cover. I preferred this one because I was able to make the strap line (slogan) part of the Masthead as an addition.

I then added my featured bands name in Big bold lettering. I added contrasting colours to make the aesthetics more interesting.

I added a lot more features to my magazine here; I have a button on the top right of my page, along with a featured article below it. I also included a banner at the bottom of the page with an in-action sub-image of a band playing at a gig.

So this is the first finished draft of my front cover. I incorporated some featured band names on the banner at the bottom as well as adding a bar code to show it can be purchased.

Magazine Front Cover Photo Shoot

For my front cover shoot I wanted the shots to be quite simple with a plain white background. However, after I felt that a brick wall would add more tones and texture to the background as shown in the top middle and top right images.
